Two things move the number: the type of injector and how many you send.

  • $30/injector for standard MPFI top-feed. That covers most port-injected cars and trucks.
  • $35/injector for side-feed, GDI, TBI/throttle-body, marine, and powersports injectors. They take more work and different tooling.
  • $15 flat round-trip shipping on the whole box, no matter how many injectors are in it.
  • Optional insurance at $2 per $100 declared if you're sending a high-value set. USPS already covers the first $100.

Fuel injector cleaning cost vs. replacement

Cleaning almost always wins on cost. New injectors run $50 to $200-plus each, and that's before a shop charges you labor to swap them. A full set of four cleaned and flow-tested here starts at $135 total. Clean first, and only replace the one injector that testing shows can't be saved. Is this a "fuel system cleaning" or an injector flush?

Not the in-car kind. A shop "fuel system cleaning service" or a can of injector flush runs cleaner through the system while everything stays bolted to the engine, so the injectors never actually come off. We do the real version: the injectors come out, get cleaned ultrasonically and backflushed on the bench, and get flow-tested before and after. It costs a little more than a bottle of additive, and it actually fixes injectors that additive can't touch.

The same as dropping them off, because there is no drop-off. Shipping is a flat $15 round trip and we send you the prepaid label both ways. No diagnostic fee, no bench fee, no shop labor. What's included in a fuel injector cleaning service?
Everything. Is professional ultrasonic cleaning better than fuel additive cleaners?
They're not even in the same category. Fuel additives can help with light surface deposits if you use them regularly, but they can't reach hardened buildup inside the nozzle or pintle area. Ultrasonic cleaning physically breaks apart deposits using cavitation: microscopic bubbles that implode on every surface of the injector. If your injectors are actually dirty enough to cause symptoms, a $10 bottle from the auto parts store isn't going to fix it.
Can I send just one or two injectors?
Yes. The minimum charge is two injectors. A pair of standard MPFI injectors is $75 shipped ($60 plus $15 shipping) and a pair of specialty injectors is $85. You can send a single injector, you'll just be billed the two-injector minimum.
How much does a fuel injector rebuild cost?
The same $30 or $35 per injector, because the rebuild is part of the service rather than a separate line. Replacing o-rings, pintle caps and micro-filter baskets is included wherever the parts are available for the design. On some injectors they are not sold separately, or only come inside an assembly that costs more than the cleaning, and in that case we clean and test the existing components and tell you. Shops that quote a rebuild at $60 to $100 per injector are usually quoting the same work with the parts itemized. The one thing no shop can rebuild is the inside of the injector, so if the coil is failed or the pintle is worn, the answer is replacement and the report will say so.
What if one of my injectors can't be cleaned?
You don't pay for that one. Every injector is flow tested before it ships back, and if one can't be restored to a condition we'd put in our own engine, its service fee comes off the invoice. It's per injector, not per order, so a set of six where one is finished is billed as five. You still get the injector back with its numbers on the report, so you know which one to replace instead of buying a whole new set. If a problem shows up after you get them back, email us within 30 days and send that injector in and we'll re-service it or refund its service fee.
